The famous slow-roll of WSOP 2005 Main Event.
A moment tailor-made for TV. People at home knew that Zeidman was up against a monster. Only one card in the deck could save him. And he got it, spiking a 7 diamonds on the river, giving him a straight flush. Soft-spoken Jennifer Harman bet $3K. Zeidman didn’t quite hear her. He hesitated, said something about going sightseeing if he lost, and made what he thought was an all-in raise when in fact he was put all in. After winning the hand he was accused of slowrolling Harman out of the biggest event of the year. Zeidman defended his play, adding that Harman knows he didn’t do anything out-of-bounds. Maybe that’s why, when asked if he could change anything about poker, he said, “Stop the way some jerks continuously criticize other people’s play.”
