Ruthenberg has cashed five times at the European Poker Tour and was the winner of fifth season of the 2008 PokerStar EPT Barcelona Open, earning him €1,361,000 (US $1,941,401), during that event the last three Players decided to make a deal. Other merits include making the final table at the 2007 EPT Dortmund event earning €220,000 ($288,283) for finishing in third place. In December 2008 he came close to making another final table during the fifth season of EPT Prague where he was the last player out before the final table, finishing in ninth place, earning €42,800.

As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $2,900,000.
