I was thinking back on the last six years, trying to figure out how I built my bankroll. It was full of crazy ups and downs, long streaks of good and bad play — mostly bad — and growing pains at different levels.

What would Jesus do?
I can remember the bad beats of my short career with astounding accuracy. I can remember just a few big scores.
When I first started, I played hours and days of freerolls, just trying to get enough to play the penny tables. It was a grind, but man it was fun.
I’ve been giving a lot of advice on this site, so I figure it’s time to put my money where my blog is.
For the next however-long-it-takes, I’m going to try to work my way from the freerolls on Betsson to a $10,000 bankroll, and beyond, if possible.
It’s an experiment borrowed from Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, who accomplished the feat a few years ago.
I’ll try to adhere to those bankroll requirements I recommended earlier — not sitting down at a limit table with more than 10 percent of my bankroll or at a no-limit table with more than five percent. Obviously, in the first few levels, I’ll have to bend those rules.
If possible, I’ll save a few hand histories to discuss later — and I’ll keep an honest account of my progress, here at bestpokermoments.com.
So come root me on, or try to bust me, or at least stop by and say hello. I’m tonypoker13 on Betsson.
