Two months ago, I wrote a post about durrrr, wondering if he would ever return to the top of the high stakes world.

Tom Dwan

Realistically, I thought it would take him a lot longer.

Last Saturday, Tom “durrrr” Dwan won more than $1.3 million crushing PixKim, Di “Urindanger” Dang, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Brian Hastings and Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro. With the win, Dwan has recovered almost all of the $5.5 million he lost to Isildur1 last year. Since Dec. 1, he’s up $4.9 million online — no one has won more in that same time.

Durrrr is also up about $1.75 million in his Million Dollar Challenge against Patrik Antonius with less than 17,000 hands to play. It’s an almost insurmountable lead, and Antonius would have to go on the heater of all heaters to not have to pay the extra $500,000. Who knows if Antonius will even attempt to play the rest of the challenge and just pay up, either way, durrrr looks to add a healthy amount to his ever-growing bankroll.

It’s meteoric rise for durrrr, who less than five months ago was on a $5 million downswing courtesy of Isildur1.

Anyone who doubted Dwan’s ability — and I’ll count myself as one of those — can back off some. He’s clearly one of the best poker players in the world.
